smash 137 (switzerland)

In 1990, at the age of 11, Smash137 discovered aerosol cans and never looked back.

He painted his signature with style and precision all over the world. Smash137 quickly became one of the leaders of the graffiti movement. The Museum of Fine Arts in his hometown of Basel, Switzerland, recognized his talent almost immediately and invited him to showcase his work in 1997. By that time, Smash137 had already exhibited in galleries and museums in Australia, North America, South America, and Europe. In 2006, his work transitioned from the street to his studio, where canvas became his medium. He describes his creative process as starting with an impulsive storm of colors around a calm and almost harmonious central motif, similar to the eye of a hurricane. His trademark is maintaining a balance between colors and lines, with his motivation being to achieve a perfect creation, akin to calligraphy and abstraction, to calm this storm.
