For 30 years, Nasty (born in 1974) has filled Paris with colors and letters, shining a global spotlight on French graffiti culture.

What could have remained as mere childhood antics in the vacant lots of the late 1980s has evolved into an incredible artistic journey, marked by exhibitions in galleries and museums, and equally enriching collaborations. Nasty, a true product of the city as he likes to say, has been instrumental since his early days in nurturing the spirit and aesthetics of graffiti in all their splendor: meticulous lettering, explosive colors, precise outlines, well-placed highlights, and carefully acquired surfaces from the underground tunnels of the Paris metro. Genuine fragments of urban culture now inseparable from his name. Nasty seems to encapsulate in them all his memories, his allegiance to the graffiti spirit, and the unwavering sincerity of his clear and confident strokes. Drawing from the best of his roots, he now shares at the At Down gallery, with each of us, a condensed version of graffiti art’s codes, and plays a pivotal role in reawakening our senses to the fundamentals of the movement.
