Drawing inspiration from comics, cartoons, video games, and fantasy novels, 1010 also honed his artistic skills in high school through the use of spray paint. Then, in 2005, the artist began posting various numbers taken from newspapers in public spaces. On the front and back of these pages, the numbers 1 and 0 appeared each time. As the photographer TXMX documented these collages, he referred to them as « 1010. » 1010, who didn’t have a graffiti alias at the time, discovered this name, liked it, and decided to adopt it. Some time later, 1010 started creating hypnotic, deep paintings using spray paint on gigantic outdoor surfaces around the world.
